El Centro Del Pueblo Recreational Services and Activities
El Centro Del Pueblo’s Recreational Program began operating in March 2003 with the completion of the outdoor Sports Field and playground. General recreational activities, such as, Basketball, Volleyball and Handball was provided on a weekday basis. El Centro Del Pueblo received funding from the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department in April 2003, to provide supervised and organized sports and recreational activities as well as general recreational activities. With the completion of El Centro’s S. Mark Taper Youth Center in August 2003, the recreational program further expanded to include indoor activities including Internet Room, Sports Library, Weightlifting, Dance Studio, Boxing and a Game Room with pool tables, foosball, air hockey and table tennis.

Service Hours:
The S. Mark Taper Youth Center and the Sports Field is open Monday thru Friday from 2pm to 7:30pm. The Sports Field is reserved on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays for youth members of El Centro Del Pueblo. The Sports Field is open to the public including adults on Mondays and Fridays 2pm to 7:30pm and also on Saturdays 10 am to 2 pm. The S. Mark Taper Youth Center is reserved for the youth members of El Centro Del Pueblo throughout the week.
Youth Membership:
Youth Membership is free and available to all youth ages 8 years old and above. All youth interested in becoming a member must complete an intake process, sign a membership rules form and have their parent or guardian sign a consent form.
All youth and adults participants are required to sign in each day upon entering the Youth Center and/or Sports Field for service documentation and security purposes. All youth and adults participants are required to follow the rules of the Youth Center and Sports Field.
